Hire an SEO Specialist & Consultant
Hiring Specialist: There’s good and bad SEO, so it pays to follow some basic rules when looking to hire a Search Engine Optimization firm or consultant for your business.
Decide what you need
Do you need link removal, reputation management, a one-time SEO audit, ongoing SEO, link building, PPC management, retargeting, content marketing, or one of the other 20 services SEO firms frequently offer?
It will take time
Google says it takes time for good SEO to work.
According to them, it will take from four months to a year before you see the full effect of a good SEO change.
Get multiple consultations
Sit down with an SEO firm or expert, that seems reasonably qualified and ask them to help you figure out what you need to do.
This time will also help you to know if you like the consultant or agency and the people you’ll be working with.
Then, go do the same thing with one or two other agencies to have a basis for comparison.
Get an audit
Google says it’s a good idea to pay for a technical audit for your site and to get two, if possible.
This thorough overview of your site will reveal all the problems you need to deal with in order to optimize it.
The auditors should show you each problem, describe the impact it’s having on your site and its rankings, and offer a solution.
Once you implement all the fixes, it takes time, but you’ll see results.
Get an SEO Roadmap
When you hire an SEO Consultant or a Digital Marketing Agency, it is good if they can provide you with an SEO Roadmap, where they will write the entire strategy for your website including SEO Audit, keyword research, action plan, content marketing plan, etc…
|How Does Video Help SEO?|
How to Use Video as Part of Your SEO Strategy
As an online business, it’s important to know and maximize your SEO strategy. If you’re not sure what Search Engine Optimization is then this guide from Google is very useful.
You’re probably reading this as you already have a good idea, it’s all about ranking as highly as possible in search results.
With SEO, there is an understandable focus on written content but there are other ways to master your SEO strategy. Here we take a look at how you can use video as part of that strategy to ultimately gain more traffic.
High-Quality Content Drives Traffic
SEO is no longer about stuffing as many keywords as you can into your text as user experience has become increasingly important.
The longer that your visitors are able to stay on your webpage, the better.
Inserting a video onto your webpage is a great way to keep your visitors engaged.
Google looks for two key factors which are the bounce rate and dwell time.
Bounce rate is determined as to how quickly someone will go from your page and back to your search results. You want this to be as low as possible and videos help with that.
Videos will also greatly improve their dwell time. They will want to watch the video, especially if it is high-quality and informative.
Having a low bounce rate and high dwell time will mean more chances for the page ranking highly with Google.
Build Links and Shares
One of the most important ways to build a great SEO rating on Google is through links. If high-authority websites link to your webpage then it’s a sign to the search engine that your page is a trusted source of information.
If you have a high-quality video then other websites are going to link to it. This will not only increase the number of links to your website but only generate huge amounts of traffic.
This is why it’s a good idea to put time and effort into your videos. Using a free resource such as Animoto for your visitors is an easy way to get high-quality content.
Increase Brand Awareness
There are plenty of indirect ways that you can increase your SEO and one of them is through increasing brand awareness. If you become a source of trusted videos then people are likely to go back to your website time and again.
Along with the video, there are many other ways to increase brand awareness such as creating a great new logo, which you can do here. It’s all about being an authority in whatever subject you specialize in.
This all links back into the user experience. You don’t just want to have eyes on your page, you want them to come away from that page feeling better for it.
Having a strong brand means your visitors will trust you and will stay on your page.
Having high-quality video as part of your SEO strategy is going to increase the amount of conversations around your website.
One great example of that is your content being shared across social media. Generating a buzz is going to increase the popularity of your website.
While gaining traffic is important, your end goal is most likely going to be monetizing that traffic in some way. This could be by selling products, advertising, or through commission.
Video is a great way of selling your products, giving key information, or becoming someone they can trust.
All of this can lead to a higher conversion rate of your website which is why you wanted to optimize it for search engines in the first place.

Microsoft Clarity Review
Microsoft Clarity Analytics Overview
Microsoft Clarity is a new and free tool from Microsoft that helps to track the site user’s behavior, user’s experience, and the site’s performance.
Clarity is a user behavior analytics tool that helps you understand how users are interacting with your website through features such as session replays and heatmaps.
Microsoft Clarity vs Google Analytics
It looks a lot like this is Microsoft’s version of Google Analytics, but in reality, it is much more focused on the user behavior, site performance, and conversions, and less on the SEO aspect.
The main features of the Microsoft Clarity tool are:
- Session recordings
- Heatmap of clicks and scrolling.
With the help of these two features, we can replay user sessions and explore heatmaps to make the website work better for the customers and business.
How to set up Clarity for our site?
Microsoft Clarity is very easy to set up, especially if you have experience with setting up a Google Analytics account.
When you first open the Clarity account, the first thing that opens up for a project are settings, that have 4 sections:
- Setup, and
Clarity Overview Setting
In the overview section, you need to add a project name, website URL, and you need to select the site category.
Clarity Team Setting
In the team section, you can invite team members to the project.
Clarity Setup Setting
In the setup section, you have the opportunity to install Clarity on your site.
In the beginning, you have the instructions on how to install the Clarity for different platforms, like for example:
- Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager (DTM)
- Google Tag Manager
- WordPress / WooCommerce
But, what basically you need to do is to copy a tracking code from there and past it to the head (between <head></head>) section of your site’s HTML.
Microsoft Clarity for WordPress
Except for WordPress, where you can install Clarity with a WordPress plugin.
You can only add a new plugin that you can search on the plugins directory with the name ‘MS Clarity’ and you need to install and activate the plugin.
After that you need to go to your Project on Clarity, go to Settings, and click on the “Install tracking code on third-party platforms” and it will open up names of different platforms, then click on the WordPress / WooCommerce and it will open a new pop-up window.
At the top of that pop-up window, you will see your Clarity project ID which you need to copy, and then past it on the Clarity plugin settings on WordPress and click “Save Changes”.
This way, your WordPress site is now configured for Clarity behavior tracking.
After you do this you need to wait up to two hours for the data to show up on the project.
You also have the option to integrate the project with the Google Analytics account of your site.
To do this you need to give permission to Clarity to view the data of your Google Analytics account.
A masking section is a place where you can choose to mask your site’s text to the Clarity tool.
You can choose between strict, balanced, and relaxed options.
You can also select to individually mask a CSS element of your site.
With the insights, we can find interesting user sessions and find out about problems like clicks that go nowhere, rage clicks, and excessive scrolling.
You can view the data for today, the last 3 days, the last 7 days, the last 30 days and you can also set up a custom time to view data for a site.
The main things to view on the insights screen are:
Sessions – you can view total sessions, distinct users, pages per session, scroll depth, and engagement.
Dead Clicks – which are clicks that the user has clicked or tapped on a page with no effect. Here we can see the percentage of dead clicks per session.
Rage Clicks – when the user rapidly clicked or tapped in the same small area. We can the percentage of these rage clicks per session.
Excessive Scrolling – when the user scrolled through a page more than expected.
Quick Backs – when the user navigated to a page then quickly returned to the previous one.
Popular Pages – as the name suggests, here we can see the most popular pages of the site for the period we selected,
Referrers – Here we can see domains of sites that have referred users to our site.
Browsers – the percentage and numbers for the type of browsers that users used to visit our site.
Devices – the percentage and numbers for the type of devices that users used to visit our site.
Operating Systems – the percentage and numbers for the type of operating systems that users used to visit our site.
Countries – this shows from which countries our site users visited the site.
Same way as with the insights, here also we can set up the custom period to see the data.
On the left of the screen is a sidebar where you can see all the sessions that your site users visited your site.
At the top of this left sidebar, you can sort the data based on the date, duration, clicks, and pages.
Before we click on a session, we can see the entry page, exit page, how many pages a user has visited during the session, session duration, the number of clicks or taps per session, country from where the user visited, his type of device and type of operating system.
When you click on the session, on the right side of the screen you can watch the session playback individually for each session.
You can set up the video to skip inactivity (while the user was inactive during the session) to not lose too much time examining.
You also have video controllers, like play, pause, rewind (10 seconds), and fast forward (30 seconds).
If you click on the button named “Timeline”, a box with text will appear on the left sidebar that will show us all the events during the session and their exact time in the playback video, like visited, resize, click, etc…
This can help us to examine user behavior as it happened.
Heatmap of Clicks and Scrolling
What is a heatmap?
Heatmaps show you an aggregate of where visitors click their mouse on desktop devices and tap their finger on mobile devices while visiting a website.
Detailed heat maps show you where users clicked and scrolled, and how they moved around the site.
There are three types of heatmaps:
- Clicks – shows us where users have clicked on the desktop,
- Taps – shows us where users have taped on the mobile or tablet, and
- Scroll – shows how far our users have scrolled down the page.
The map is color-coded to show the elements that have been clicked and tapped the most (red, orange, yellow).
Now, on the Clarity tool when we enter the heatmap page, on the top we can see the filters where we can select different filters, like time-frame, insights data, etc.
Also, there is a form where we can write the URL of the page that we want to analyze.
The screen again is separated into two sections, the smaller left sidebar, and the right section, just like in the session recordings.
On the left sidebar, we can see the site elements from the site layout ranked by the most clicks.
On the right sidebar, we can see the page we have chosen to analyze, but on top of that, we have the options to select if we want to analyze that page for the users that visited that page from desktop, tablet, or mobile.
Also, there is an option to choose between clicks and scroll.
When we select to view clicks, we can see a heatmap also known as a clickmap.
On the page, we can see some yellow dots presented there and when it comes to clickmaps, every dot you see represents a click.
This how we will know which part of the page attracts more clicks, and we can make adjustments on the page to increase our conversion rate.
When we select to view scroll, we can see a heatmap also known as a scrollmap.
Scrollmaps show us the aggregate data in percentage of how low on the site the users have scrolled to view the content.
Now, on the Clarity tool when we enter the heatmap page, the screen again is separated into two sections, the smaller left sidebar, and the right section, just like in the session recordings.
In the left sidebar, we can see the scroll data in a table with these columns,
- %scrolled – in the rows are presented the percentage of scrolling through the page,
- # of visitors, – here we can see the number of visitors for each scrolling percent in a row,
- % of visitors – here we can see the number of visitors for each scrolling percent in a row.
This shows us how much our site visitors have scrolled through the page we have decided to analyze.
Based on this we can make the necessary changes on the page to increase our conversion rate.
The Microsoft Clarity tool is a very good free tool that provides us with data about our site, which can help us very much to improve our site’s user experience, performance, and conversions overall.

How do tags work on Etsy?
Tags on Etsy are very similar to tags on any other platform, like for example tags on WordPress.
So tags can be used as single words or small groups of words that can describe your product in the shop.
Then the search engine matches your product tags with search queries that users type in the search form to give them relevant results.
So as you can see tags are very important and if used well can bring you traffic and increase sales of your products in your shop.
So you need to know what people are searching on the search form and then write those words or phrases on tags, but not only on tags but on a product title, description, categories, etc…

What is Etsy Keyword Research?
Etsy Keyword Research is a process similar to keyword research for any search engine optimization but its purpose is to find the best keywords for you to include in your shop, your item (product) that you want to sell on Etsy.
Etsy Keyword Research helps you find queries that have high demand or good monthly search volume, a low competition which means that is easy to rank, and high engagement from the searchers on the search engine.
How do I find keywords on Etsy?
There are a lot of different ways to do keyword research for Etsy, and I am going to explain some of them here.
Here’s how to do that:
Like for any other keyword research process, here also you need tools to do the research and choose the best possible keywords for your campaign.
Some of the best tools to do this type of keyword research are:
1. Search Bar – Keyword Suggestions
Just like in the Google search bar, you can get query suggestions when you start writing the words in the search form on Etsy.
Usually, those keyword suggestions are the best when it comes to finding search queries because the search engine knows what is being searched on, and based on the word that you start writing they give you suggestions.
To get the approximate monthly search volume for every search query, you can use the Keywords Everywhere Chrome extension and that will give you the search volume for every word you type.
2. Google Keyword Planner
You can use Google Keyword Planner for finding the best keywords of your competitors on Etsy.
Open Google Keyword Planner, then go to your competitor’s shop on Etsy and copy the URL of their shop on the browser, or copy the URL of some of their products that are competing and outranking the same product like yours and then paste it in the Google Keyword Planner form.
After pasting the URL on the Google Keyword Planner, then choose “This page only” and click “Get started”.
Then Google Keyword Planner will extract for you all the keywords that this page is using to rank for.
3. Etsy Trends
With Etsy Trends you can see which products are trending on Etsy.
This will be very helpful to you for product research and based on that you can also make research as described above and find the best keywords of the best trending products.
4. Alura Tools for Growing Your Etsy Business
- Etsy Keyword Finder, for keyword research.
- Alura Extension – for your browser,
- Listing Helper, a tool to help audit and optimize your Etsy listing.
- Etsy Fee Calculator.
- Estimated sales
- Estimated revenue
- Alura score
- Tag analysis
- Trend analysis
- Price estimator
- Main Category
- Similar keywords
EtsyRank is a keyword research tool that is free to use so it is one that I suggest you use for your optimization project.
Go to EtsyRank and create a new account if you don’t already have one, then connect your shop with this tool.
Then in the menu click on the keyword tool to open the tool.
In the tool just write your seed keyword, in this case, it should be the keyword that in the best way describes your product.
After this step, then the EtsyRank tool will give you a lot of information about the seed keyword you have typed.
This information is the metrics that EtsyRank will give you, and those metrics are:
Engagement – shows us the engagement that your specific keyword got in the past on Etsy. It’s important because it tells us how likely this product described with this keyword will sell.
Demand – shows us the search volume of the search term, how many times on average this query has been searched monthly until now.
Competition – tells us how much this keyword is competitive, and it is measured from EtsyRank by calculating how many times the keyword has been used as a tag on products on Etsy.

Seed keywords are those words that are equivalent to topics that you want to produce content about, and usually, they are broader and have high search volume but also very high SEO competition.
A high SEO competition is one of the reasons why we don’t use these keywords directly into the content but instead, we find the longtail versions of them that have lower competition and lower SEO difficulty.

What’s the difference between Blogger and WordPress?
For years now I use Blogger for my own websites, and I can confirm that Blogger is a great platform when it comes to building websites and blogs that are managed from one person or small-sized teams.
|Blogger vs Wordpress|
Is Wordpress better than Blogger?
For example, if you are creating a company website and/or blog then I would recommend you use Wordpress because it has a lot more features than Blogger.
Although even Blogger can be customized and you can create company websites with it.
If you are creating a personal blog, or better saying your aim to create a small blog than Blogger can be good.
Wordpress can be easier and better customized, you have more premium templates.
I have used and use also Wordpress for a lot of websites, and Wordpress is an amazing CMS.
Wordpress is better for a lot of people because it is easier to use with the help of a lot of different plugins and there are a lot of themes available.
Is Blogger better than WordPress?
If you want to use Blogger to create good websites and optimized for search engines, you need to know basic HTML and CSS and create custom templates or you can buy premium Blogger templates for a cheap price.
Is Blogger completely free?
Is Blogger good for SEO?
When it comes to SEO for Blogger the only drawback I can see for On-Site SEO right now is that you cannot format URLs and create them without year and month, like you can format them in Wordpress.
Anyway, Blogger as a blogging platform from Google is safer when it comes to security, because it is hosted on Google servers, and also their servers rarely go down.
